Thanks and have a lovely weekend.Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02777513495995940724noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27329001.post-83195392714402466402010-09-02T07:11:47.344-04:002010-09-02T07:11:47.344-04:00My pestle doesn't have a long handle. The ute...My pestle doesn't have a long handle. The utensil pictured above is a potato masher that I would never use again. The holes in the potato masher both allowed wax to come up through them and didn't accomplish the "crush" part of crush and strain. The reason a pestle works so well is that the surface is flat and solid so that all parts of it crush the honey comb. I have never wished for a long handle on my pestle. The normal sized handle allows a sort of rocking wrist action that helps crush the honeycomb.Linda Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08089537760868691562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27329001.post-34838032011247247772010-09-02T00:53:38.179-04:002010-09-02T00:53:38.179-04:00Linda, where do you find pestles with the long han...Linda, where do you find pestles with the long handles? I like the solid force of the pestle and probably will keep using it - now that I have located it....it was missing at the time.Linda Thttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08089537760868691562noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-27329001.post-25474583256108090522010-09-01T14:35:05.837-04:002010-09-01T14:35:05.837-04:00hey Linda, I suggested the potato masher.
