My Holly Is Buzzing….

Yesterday the holly bushes burst into bloom.  I have a holly on either side of my front door in my new house.  The smell is overwhelming and the holly bushes are buzzing.  There are bumble bees and honey bees on every bloom.  The bees only stay a short moment - thus it was difficult to get a photo, but here are my efforts (I deleted 25 blurry pictures!)


Several years ago when Paul Arnold examined my honey, he said it was heavily informed by holly blossoms.

It's funny because the blossoms seem insignificant - most people don't even notice that their holly is in bloom.  You can't miss it at my house because it smells so sweet.



I do love the contrast of the red berries and the white blooms, promising more berries in the winter of 2012.
