My deck on the second (main) level of my house is halfway up a pine tree. The house, like many in Atlanta is built into a hill so I have a full daylight basement and the main floor is at ground level in the front of the house but is the second level from the back of the house.
It may look as if I hung this trap low, but as I said, it's halfway up a pine tree. I anchored it to the deck rail.
I put the opening away from the house toward the woods. You can see it in the photo below. I only want to hang these traps where I can watch them. I wouldn't want to find that a hive had moved in and started building comb that I would have to cut out when I moved them to a hive box.
So we'll see if a neighborhood swarm decides my trap is just the right location, location, location for them.
Good luck with this. Hope it works. Did you use your lemongrass recipe or just some honey comb for attractant? Great material.
