First 2021 Virtual Hive Inspection Done March 5 - 14, 2021
I presented my first virtual hive inspection of the year to the MABA bee registrants last night. While you don't get the benefit of the Q&A or the discussions, here it is, if you would like to watch it.
Top bar hives are harvested by cutting the comb off of the top bar and then using the crush and strain method of harvesting. https://youtu.be/we28Oet6KT0 Top bars are helpful with lifting issues and lots of people like them because of not having to lift the heavy boxes
I have not even watched this yet, but I am SO HAPPY that you have posted it. Just gonna chillax and watch this wonderful bee-person check the bees.
ReplyDeleteHow do you harvest honey from the top bar hive? I think a top bar might be easier for me because of no heavy lifting of the boxes.
